English Civil War Musketeer (Red) Minifigure
Pike and shot was a historical infantry tactical formation that first appeared during the Italian Wars of the late 15th and early 16th centuries, and was used until the development of the bayonet in the late 17th century. This type of formation combined soldiers armed with pikes and soldiers armed with arquebuses and/or muskets.
The English Civil War (1642–1651) was a series of civil wars and political machinations between Parliamentarians ("Roundheads") and Royalists ("Cavaliers"), mainly over the manner of England's governance and issues of religious freedom. The war ended with Parliamentarian victory at the Battle of Worcester on 3 September 1651.
This minifigure can also be used for the 30 Years War. It is suited for either an infantry officer or dragoon officer.
